2008 “Fun Filled People” Pencil/Pen

his is a drawing from a short story I never finished. The topic came up in conversation recently, so I’m posting this for the friend who mentioned it. I’m not sure if the written words will ever see the light of day, but I’ve always been fond of this particular sketch. Aside from adjusting the contrast in CS2, the drawing looks exactly the same as it did 13 years ago – crooked lines and all.
I also found a handful of other drawings while I was rummaging around.
“My talk with the giraffe” has been very well received and I was very excited when I came across other works from the “my talks with the animals” series. H gets the credit for the concept; her first drawing, “my talk with the turtle at the bar” was the one that started it. Our crappy telemarketing job gave us plenty of time to sketch out new ideas until we were reduced to 8 hours/week in an effort to make us quit. Thankfully, it worked.
